In the shadow of the Bishopsgate Institute..

The Bishopsgate Institute is an island of revolutionary socialism in the City of London. Unbelievably, the City itself funds it.
Comrade Capitalists.
Let us look at the building before considering what happens within it.
As we approach the building it becomes clear that it was built for the purpose of socialist propaganda. The trees and leaves are in a mock arts and crafts style although the building opened slightly too late to be considered part of it. The arts and crafts movement was avowedly socialist and generally attacked Karl Marx as being insufficiently radical.

The working class are honored in Socialist art- but only those with the right opinions..
The visitor is greeted by this mural of Women against Pit Closures which was a failed attempt by mining communities to prevent the closure of unprofitable coal mines in the 1980's. It is interesting that the left portray these women as the voice of working class resistance when none of them had ever been down a pit themselves. Pit work is considered too dangerous for women and actual miners are as invisible to the left as they were to the government that closed the mines.

We must reflect for a moment that the Bishopsgate Institute accepts money to operate an adult education centre and presumably claims to be welcoming to all comers. Clearly on the evidence of these murals this is a lie.

Spare Rib was a RadFem magazine that somehow avoided prosecution for its advocacy of violence. It survived on public handouts disguised as overpriced 'supporting subscriptions' but eventually even this was not enough.
How is any non violent person supposed to feel comfortable studying in such a place?
The Socialist Library. It smells of decay. I assumed this to be some form of rot due to the great age of the building. Maybe it is the smell of defeat and broken dreams?
Most of the books were quite old and many were from the Soviet Union explaining the wonderful prosperity and freedom of life there. In addition we had biographies of failed trade unionists and cabinet ministers of failed Labour governments. We had accounts of failed strikes, failed campaigns and failed nations.

It was the library of failure.

It looks rather grand at first sight. The icon on the wall is of Bernie Grant MP who, upon hearing white unarmed policemen had been beaten to death declared seemed rather pleased. A 'bloody good hiding'.

They call this 'inclusivity'.

The thing that I found most interesting about the Bishopsgate Institute was not what was on display. It was what had been hidden from view.

On my last visit a great deal of space was taken up with the celebration mass murdering African Marxists of various kinds. It is possible these have been removed because it is no longer legal to advocate terrorism but the space has been taken up by white feminists- many of which also advocate terrorism.

The other missing item was a display on the history of the institute. This once admitted that the institute had been involuntarily funded by the Church of England who were running three separate charities for local people. This money was amalgamated and used to build the Bishopsgate Institute which opened in 1895.

It was agreed this would be run on a secular basis to make it as inclusive as possible. Unfortunately the Bishopsgate Institute was captured by what we would now call Social Justice Warriors. Money that was intended to help the poor was used for political campaigns.

We must remember that in 1895 Britain was a religious nation. It was commendably generous of the establishment to hand the center over to a secular management committee but this resulted in a narrower focus rather than a broader one.

This is the modus operandi of the Social Justice Warrior.

Knock on the door of money and power claiming to be under represented.

Throw out everyone who is stupid enough to let them in.

Misappropriate funds for political purposes. Corrupt the original purpose of the organisation.

This history been removed from display in the institute and has also been edited from Wikipedia and from the institutes own website.

The sanitised 'official' version no longer makes sense as a logical narrative. We are expected to believe that the church was happy with what the institute became and that it was also happy to have church money used to campaign for the disestablishment of the church.

Clearly we are being lied to- but why and by who?

In order to understand the Bishopsgate events we must understand what we would have had if the current regime of leftists has not taken control. To get a sense of this I photographed three churches in Bishopsgate to get a sense of the people who were displaced.

While in the Socialist Library I felt as if a great weight was pressing down on me. Here I felt at peace.

This is St Boltophs hall. It is a secular building attached to the nearby church complex. It has a far more welcoming feel to it than the Bishopsgate Institute but the door was locked when I took the photograph..

The left loves to claim that the established church excludes them as they generally are not believers. This is untrue. I am an atheist and love to sit in peace in churches such as this. I have never felt unwelcome.

This is St Boltoph-without-Bishopsgate. It was open to anyone who just wished to sit for a while or read the inscriptions on the walls.

A small regimental chapel. One does not need to be religious to feel pride that ones ancestors are honored in this way.

The entrance to the de-consecrated St Ethelburga. This church was blown up by the IRA and is now a place to resolve differences.

Compare the openness of these institutions with the narrow minded leftism of the Bishopsgate Institute. What could have been done if the Bishopsgate Institute had not stolen their money?

Finally we find a Bedouin tent behind the church in the centre of the IRA bomb crater. This remain open during the day so that people may sit together and discuss their differences 'in the round'.

Although I am personally an atheist I find myself drawn more to the good hearted Christians who create spaces such as this than many of my fellow atheists. I rather like the Church of England as long as they stay off the subject of God.

The dark shadow of the Bishopsgate Institute is the lie that was used to create it. The money to build the institute was stolen from the Church of England (morally if not legally) and the leftists who did the stealing have been forced to maintain the lie for a hundred and twenty years. Even now they must scan Wikipedia and edit out truthful information. They have become prisoners of their own lie.
