St Stephen Walbrook.

The City has around one hundred church buildings in the space of just over one square mile. This is an astonishing total and is far more than the Vatican which covers only a slightly smaller area. Furthermore every one of these churches is amazing in its own way.

Each church building has its own emotional flavour- and its own resident spirits and legends. Not all are currently in use.

It is beautiful but in my experience has a faintly disturbing 'off' flavour to it that I cannot put my finger upon.

St Stephen Walbrook helped launch the Samaritans, a suicide prevention charity. It now stands suspended between past and future. One may participate in services over the Inernet.
